Featured Replies

Hi,

Since I update my WinXP Pro to SP3, all the Auto Updates settings are hiden (grey) see the here bellow image.

In fact i want setting the Auto Updates to "Notify for new updates without downloading".

I checked the following registery and tested/modify the values tp 0,1,2 without success

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\wuauserv]
"Start"=dword:00000002

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Browser]
"Start"=dword:00000004

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BITS]
"Start"=dword:00000002

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Security Center]
"UpdatesDisableNotify"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\Auto Update]
"AUOptions"=dword:00000002
"ConfigVer"=dword:00000001

Try applying only 1 registry tweak (remove the rest) via GUIRUNONCE or RUNONCEEX. (I had mine done this way and it works)

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\Auto Update]
"AUOptions"=dword:00000002
