Windows7 RC Installation DVD will (still do) not start

Featured Replies

Hello,

downloaded the Windows7RC (checksum correct) and burned it on DVD (RW).

Cannot open the DVD in XP and on booting it isn't recognized too.

So I had the idea to mount it and install it from harddrive, but the mounted drive has only a readme-file in it with this in it

This disc contains a "UDF" file system and requires an operating system

that supports the ISO-13346 "UDF" file system specification.

No idea how to get this problem solved *sigh*

Hello.

warum installierst Du W7 nicht von der Festplatte unter XP? - thats simple.

Unpack with 7-ZIP and klick auf die SETUP.EXE.

bye :)

Gute Idee,

aber geht auch nicht.

Unpacking with 7zip does not work either.

After unpacking I only have the readme.txt and a folder [boot] with one file in it

Bootable_NoEmulation.img

But the iso is 3,18 GB (3.416.074.240 Bytes) big and the md5 is like it should be.

----

idea, too old 7zip Version and after getting newer 7zip version, it works!

Thanks. Danke!!

:thumbup

EDIT:

Ok, after extracting it it will not run because I have downloaded th 64bit version but my XP is 32bit.

Argh, what can I do now?
