careless_hxuk Posted March 30, 2009 Share Posted March 30, 2009 (edited) Is it possible to entirely remove the 'New Shortcut' item from the File > New menu in windows explorer? If so, is it then possible to associate this change with a mandatory user profile?Ideally, I would like to remove everything from the New menu except New Folder, but removing the shortcut entry would be very useful.EDIT: I've removed the ShellNew entry from HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/.lnk but all this does is prevent the wizard from appearing, it doesn't actually remove the link.
