Internet News Consolidation

I know about RSS and other similar news feeds. I know how to configure Google to do something like this but it's not easy. But what I would really like to have is a website where I can configure it to display the top 5 or 10 news or NEW posts from pre-selected sites on the internet. Maybe it could sign on the site or forum for me. It would display something like this:

(These are just examples, not based on any preference at this time. Output should be sorted with most recent items first.)

Someone on another forum suggested www.dailyrotation.com which is exactly what I was looking for!
