Hello,

Since this is my first post here, let me introduce myself, I'm Convirion from the netherlands, I'm 17 years old & I'm doing a IT - study.

Now i've a thin-client here without any IDE-ports, Floppy ports, and without (bootable) usb-ports.

The situation:

I've a Nice machine (Pentium 3 700Mhz, 256MBram, 5GB hdd) I want to install XP on this device. I've one empty PCI port so I decided to use that one for my Promise Ultra133 Fasttrack2000 (AKA Promise TX2000 I found out ;) )

Tryout 1:

-> Install Windows XP sp2 pro with a default IDE cd player.

-> TX2000 detected a bootable cd rom

-> booting from CD rom.

Press F2 for automatic recovery (didn't press this one)

Press F6 for raid driver (didn't press this one)

loading files

<cut>

When it's done loading files. I get a bluescreen ->

<cut>

-> BSOD (0x0000007B) (inaccessable boot device)

This one doesn't work

Tryout 2:

Tried to install it with another CD player that works sure for 100%

Same result as Tryout1

This one doesn't work

Tryout 3:

-> Ripped the Windows XP cd to my hdd

-> Intigrated the TX2000 driver

-> tested it with Virtual PC

-> works

-------------

Thin client boot:

-> TX2000 detected a bootable cd rom

-> booting from CD rom.

Press F2 for automatic recovery (didn't press this one)

Press F6 for raid driver (didn't press this one)

loading files

<cut>

When it's done loading files. I get a bluescreen ->

<cut>

-> BSOD (0x0000007B) (inaccessable boot device)

This one doesn't work

Hopefully someone can help me :)

I'm not a noob in the IT world, but this is just new to me :). It's a old card to install with. If you have other idea's just post them here!

since there are some post around here, i decided to create a new post, because the other posts were realive old
