adrian2055
I upgraded the memory in my laptop from 2gb to 4gb today. Now I thought that 32-Bit operating systems only read 3gb of ram. Can someone explain to me why mine reads 4gb while I'm running the 32-bit os? I thought I had to install the 64-bit version to do this.Screenshot:http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/81/winvi32pk6.jpg Edited February 14, 2009 by adrian2055
ekos8
Vista had a patch where it shows installed ram, not usable ram.
cluberti
Vista SP1 has been changed to report the total *installed* amount, versus the total *available* amount like Vista RTM and previous versions. It doesn't change that Windows cannot use all 4GB, it just reports the correct installed amount. Also, fix your sig, it violates #5 of the forum rules.
