ASIO vs Kmixer / Windows standard

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Do I have to install the windows sound subsystem(Kmixer) if I intend to use ASIO4ALL or can I strip it out with nLite? ASIO4ALL might me a wrapper not sure how that differs from a native ASIO driver set like M-Audio Audiophile 192 which has ASIO drivers? But since I have no intention of using the MS soundsubsystem and bypassing it with ASIO just wanted to see if it was possible

I am going to try to make a WinXP as lean as possilbe for a jukebox setup in addition to making it music/audiophile friendly.
