Missing network place

I brought a second computer and set up the network successfully. I had internet connection, file and printer sharing. It was all fine for several weeks.

Then for some reason it stopped working. I think it was after I restored the older computer. I have checked all the file sharing, workgroups, firewall settings, TCP/IP. The older comp does not register anything in the network place and the new one only registers itself. I thought it was a firewall problem but I have checked the allow's and also tried by turning it off.

When I run the home network wizard it completes but no computer shows on network place.

When i try to add a network place the browse option only takes me to the workgroup. There is no computer or files to add.

any ideas? Help!

I'm thinking about doing a clean boot and reformate but it seems a bit extreme.

Your 2 computers are in same workgroup, same subnet? and crossover connection?

PC1 = IP: 192.168.0.1

-------- Subnet: 255.255.255.0

-------- Gateway: 192.168.0.2

-------- Workgroup: Workgroup

PC2 = IP: 192.168.0.2

-------- Subnet: 255.255.255.0

-------- Gateway: 192.168.0.1

-------- Workgroup: Workgroup

(Sorry for my English, and too simple suggession) :whistle:
