Geej
Why don't u slipstream these applications to run together with XP setup so that u do not have to manually install after Xp setup? What apps are u trying to install? There are many ready-made ones available...
diptenkrom
2 reasons, 1 is i don't want all of the apps on every install. 2 is i don't know how to do that either.i ahve integrated sp3 and ie8, and a few drivers. but other than ccleaner, which is quick anyway, i don't think i will use the same setup on every machine. diptenkrom
going to try $OEM$/$docs/All Users/desktop and see if that works. < it does!let you guys know. seems as if you use the actual username then you will get a duplicated account file. diptenkrom
okay that works, but for some reason i get an error on login. it wants to login 'administrator' and i have set the login name to 'XP User'. if i click okay on the error screen it works, but how do i make it not do that?other than that i have about got it narrowed down to like two other stupid errors that seem to be just in a few files i added (themes and whatnot). got all of my wallpapers in and the ie8 integration worked well, for some reason wmp11 did not work, and i can't find a real download of dx10.1 either.would like to integrate wmp11, dx10.1, and silverlight. have nto tried it yet but silverlight should be a straight forward update patch. diptenkrom
seems as if i got wmp11 and silverlight on okay. i am trying to make rev.3 of my install disc the last one for the time being. the first 2 have been a learning experience, but have not done exactly what i was shooting for. any poiinters on what i can do to make my theme appear and get rid of that annoying error about the user not being able to log on would be great and possibly make my day.i have slipstreamed sp3, ie8, silverlight, wmp11 into the disc. still want to add directX 10.1also is there any way to change the position of the start bar in the setup, like move it to the top of the screen? as you guys have noticed i am not a programmer, but i can implement code, and follow how-to's very well. i am reasonably intellegent and have taken some programming, so i do know some basics, but do not know code by heart. i can however take code and alter it to acheive my goals if given a basis to go from. diptenkrom
okay i got the reg entry, where do i put it? or is there somethin i need to do? like runonce, or what?
iamtheky
Yeah, I do all my reg add from cmdlines and runonce .cmds. There is also the regtweaks if you want to try other options. I recommend you build a batch first with the reg add key and make sure it functions before wasting an hour waiting for a runonce to fail.
