vista ultimate in restarting loop after updates

after i downloading and install the updates vista stuck on the "part 3 of 3 100%"

and restart the computer non stop

did anyone know the solution ?

OK, I had same problem and solved it yesterday with some help from the MS.public.windowsupdates Newsgroup.

This is what worked for me.

Temporarily disable any AV or firewall (that is not the Vista Firewall) and make sure Vista Firewall is active

Exit any other programs you can from the right hand Tray

Install the KB958644 Update (I assume this is the one you are talking about??). My user profile didn't load at the restart, but after a second reboot this did and all OK.

I assume you have got your machine running OK by using a system restore in safe mode to get back to before the Update was installed?

If the above didn't work go into msconfig and disable all the non-microsoft start-up programs and then try again the above.

Download this (your version will show further down the page x86 or x64). Run the file and it takes quite a while to complete its check and it may download some missing files or repair some damaged ones.

Try the 958644 again after that, again disabling any Anti Virus stuff. NOTE, there are many reports of AVG interfering with this patch, so if you are using any AVG go to their web site and get the fix first
