October 17, 200817 yr At work we are currently using a bottable USB VistaPE 2.0 solution to prep our computers. The PE has the following functions:1) Automated formatted of HDD2) Connect to a server with RDP 3) Automated ghost tasksI am not sure if this is the right forum to ask this question. I was wondering if there was a linux alternative to building LinuxPE. If so, where can I go about to find info about creating one. I have already googled a great deal with no luck. I bascially want to see if I can reproduce a similar solution in Linux format. And If I can, I want to see if it will be lighter andfaster to load because our VistaPE solution sometimes takes upwards a 1.5 minutes to load on a computer.
October 17, 200817 yr Hi QctripMost Linux distos comes in a "Live CD" version - where you boot the OS from CD without installing.Example: Fedora which is a red-hat spin-off :http://fedoraproject.org/en/get-fedoraBut for speed I would not advise it - most Linux Live CD's are slower than BartPE or WindowsPEKind RegardsMartin Andersen Edited October 17, 200817 yr by prey
