docmarten Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 (edited) I have hit this problem that I need to resolve.I have Acronis True Image and have scheduled a backup procedureusing that. However we are limited on drive space so to clear someof the logs that Microsoft Exchange leaves behind, I do a backupwith NTbackup = this automatically deletes the restore logs from Exchange and therefore frees up some space (those logs are crucial to exchangeand can only be deleted by "exchange aware" softwareHeres the crunch though:If I schedule NTbackup to run then after that is finished the Acronisis run on a schedule(about 2 hours later) then Acronis stops with an errorsaying that It cannot read from the drive to be backed up.This only happens if NTbackup is scheduled and doesnt matter if NT backup runs or notI then have to delete the acronis schedule, and reschedule it - then do a rebootIs there any way to get around this? I must have NTbackup sceduled unless theres a way that acronis can safely delete the exchange restore logsI have heard about people who say NTBackup is killed by Acronis, but I cant find it the other way around - also acronis support is ridiculous on this subject andsuggest they have fixed all problems to do with VSS and that this is not their problem but a NTBackupor a Win 2k3 problem Edited September 16, 2008 by docmarten
