Can ADAM be installed in XP Pro SP2 - X86 based PC?

I have Windows XP Professional SP2 - X86-based PC.

I have to test the user authentication using Microsoft AD. But installing windows server for using this AD is not possible now. I came to know that Microsoft ADAM serves the same purpose but can be installed in windows xp.

I downloaded ADAMSP1_x86_English.exe from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en. I face some issues while installing it. The requirements section specifies that it requires SP1.

Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional Service Pack 1 (SP1)

Now I doubt whether a separate installable is available for XP pro SP2 or the above exe itself can be used to install on XP pro SP2 as well?

Also please tell me the steps to set up AIM. I'm a newbie to this ADAM. Can someone please help me?

Thanks
