How can I set the logon page when my computer starts?

I am given a laptop that is secondhand but still in a good shape. It comes with Windows XP SP2. It operates well, the only problem is that every time the computer starts up, it never goes through the logon page, eventhough I have set up the password for the user. If I hibernate or standby, and goes back on, the logon page is shown. However, it does not show the logon page when I start the computer up. Considering it is a laptop, I would prefer to be able to put a password on.

Can anyone help? Please?

Thank you so much,

Indra

download a utility called tweakui from microsoft website.

it can help you tweak your logon options. it may have been set to enter the password automatically and logon automatically when starting. uncheck that from tweakui.

Start --> Run... --> Control Userpasswords2
