Sound went out

I was trying to close my cod4 with windows task manager while watching some stuff on firefox and I closed something besides cod4 and since then my sound has stopped working, I have tried restarting my computer and messing with the cords and audio controller. Now im not 100% sure that closing whatever I closed is the issue her but that is one of the circumstances. The funny part is that im using a headset and the mic part works just fine.

edit: i just tried plugging in some old speakers and i still didnt get any sound

Did you accidentally turn the sound and/or wave volumes down?

Where the speakers that you used powered?
