How can I get rid of the IE & Recycle Bin icons on desktop using cmd?

To hide all Desktop Icons from Explorer but still enable right-clicking on the desktop there is the following registry hack :

Hive: HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Key: Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
Name: HideIcons 
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 1

[Removing the Recycle Bin]

Removing the Recycle Bin icon however, isn't as simple! Using a simple registry hack,

here’s how you can remove the Recycle Bin from your Windows XP desktop:

1) Press Windows key + R (This brings up the Run dialog box)

2) Type regedit and press Enter (The open up Registry Editor)

3) Navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\

CurrentVersion\Explorer\Destkop\NameSpace\

4) Right-click on {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} and click Delete.

5) You can now close Registry Editor. After a restart, the

Recycle Bin icon will be no longer be part of your Windows Desktop!

Hmmm., I did not find anything on this icon removal in registry hacks. BUT

I think you may fine the icon for this in the registry section of the following:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\

CurrentVersion\Explorer\Destkop\NameSpace\

They should be a registry controller for IE's icon in there.

To get these unattended / silent registry entries added..., use the following:

example: REGEDIT /S myregs\mytestreg.reg

to remove entries in the registry..,eithr do it manually useing regedit...,

OR in your file, in front of each entry..., use a "-"(minus) then space the registry entry...

This should according to MS delete the entry(ies) in the requested reg file.
