No Sound after installing Ultimate x32

Hey guys,

I am sure there is a thread for this already, but after searching, I have had no success finding it, so I'll start my own.

Here is the deal, built a new PC, has on-board sound on Asus p5k-vm board. Intel Core 2 Duo Wolfdale 2.53 processor. Not sure what other info you would need, but here is my issue:

Installed vista ultimate x32 with sp1 on 3 machines, 2 work fine, this one the machine everything works fine, except for my sound. I have done everything I can think of as far as drivers are concerned. I installed realtek high def audio driver 1.98 which is the newest I could find. Everything looks good in device manager, all drivers are installed, no red or yellow ! marks. Volume is turned up, and the sound bar in the volume mixer(animation) actually shows the beat of the music. So it looks like everything is good to go, i just don't get sound. I have tried every audio jack on the machine, including the headphone jack in the front panel.

I don't know what else I am missing or could do. So I am sure one of you guys have been through this before, help me out.
