breadandbubbles Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 i reformatted Windows 2000 Pro on ym moms pc, and installed the appropriate drivers fro her Dlink DFE-538TX Ethernet card. and kept getting code 10's.i messed around, installed lots of variations and versions of the drivers, all to no avail. code 10, code 10, code 10.so i put in another lan card. some crappy thing made by 'Netcore"? driver wizard insists that i never installed the card. card cant be found. i tried severl PCI slots. still problems.whats going on here? the dlink card worked before. do i need to update Windows 2000? right from the disc i dont even think it has SP 1. its an old release. but without the internet i cant update it. is that even relevent?i used this exact saem driver the exact same way 6 months ago. worked then. any ideas?
eyeball Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 go into device manager and get the hardware ID String and paste it here. It should look like VEN_XXX&DEV_XXX.Once you have done that myself or someone else should be able to find the driver for you
