corvette2003 Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 I recently purchased an HP DV9825NR laptop and love the pc, but the bloatware is quite extreme, and bothering me so I opted to install a fresh copy of Vista Ultimate 32bit.I put the disc in the drive and went throught the normal progress of a Windows install and finally it came to the "Completing Installation" segment when the system just hangs repeatably for hours upon hours. I have read many posts in other forums where desktop systems are plagued by this, but how do I get by it with my laptop? All the components are integrated, and the bios is VERY simple to say the least. (no variable turn on or off settings). I used Vlite to make a bootable image of Vista and incorporated the recommended SATA Intel drivers and it still does it. I tried integrating an old copy of XP Home Edition and SATA drivers to see if the instal would work, and it did flawlessly. I was wondering if I should just integrate all the laptop drivers to the Vista boot image and see what happens. I can't remember where, but I recall someone explaining it was the video drivers (the system comes with on board video Nvidia Geforce 8600M GS) I just am unsure of where those files are after unpacking the standard installer .EXE file from HP.I would really appreciate some help as the system runs XP great but with what I have invested in this unit it seems silly to settle.Thank you.
