jefryclair Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 (edited) i updated 4 out of 5 pc's running xp pro, but the one running xp home keeps throwing an error.the install goes fine up to the point of the registry update, where it gives me an 'access denied' dialog box, then backs out all the changes upon clicking it...tried everything i can think of, running as admin, in safe mode, w/ antivirus off in full mode, ran bug scans to clean up.no luck!anyone else have problems like this?thanks ahhh, finally success!using method 3 at this link:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949377best luck to all!
