Couple of questions about theme files

Ive been doing some reading about saving sound schemes and such, and would like to do this myself as im working on making a recovery cd gear towards my computer.

Basically what I need to know is, how do I go about saving my sound scheme, and editing the theme to include only my sound scheme, cursors, and icons.

Secondly, once that stuff is saved, what do I need to do to restore those settings, and have them set as the ones that are currently used, without having to do it manually.

I am NOT doing this with an unattended install, or during a windows installation at all. I would like to know how to do this AFTER windows has already been installed fresh.

Im running windows xp pro, x86 .... I might make the switch to x64, but havent decided yet.

I would appreciate any help anyone could offer me with this
