Microsoft Strikes Again! MS Update = MS Virus

Last night my system did a forced update/MS virus My primary partition is Vista which came w/ my new Lenovo Z61t and is 100% legit and after the update I am stuck in 3 of 3 0% Complete -> Reboot endless loop. Fortunately I have Acronis TI and have a backup of my C drive which I can explore and presumably alter or perhaps identify which Update is causing the problem and then w/ a little help rename the file from a DOS window. Would someone be kind enough to give me some guidance? I am probably a novice compared w/ the the people who post here but reasonably advanced compared to the general public.
