If you have tried installing the XP or 2000 drivers using the HP supplied method (some setup file) have noticed that this process fails early on. You may even have fudged around with installing System Restore, as it seems to fail around that point.

This is how to get the printer working:

--

Get "HP Multi-Function Products Driver Bundle - Corporate Only" for example for the HP Photosmart 3210. You might want to pick your own printer.

Run the file. It wil ask where to extract. Defaults to a directory on your desktop. Leave the files there for a moment.

Get Bonjour for Windows from Apple:

Go through the Bonjour wizards. It will find your networked printer. When asked to select a driver choose "Have a disk..". Go to the directory you just extracted to, select hpaioa.inf (AIO = all-in-one). Continue with the wizard.

I hope this saved you some time.
