MagicAndre1981 Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 (edited) I turned my Vista off yesterday evening and today I turned my Notebbok on and now my Vista doesn't start any longer. The Bootscreen with the progressbar is shown correctly and now the Welcome page should follow, but only a black scrren with my mouse pointer is shown.I didn't install any updates or modified something. On 2 German boards several people have exactly the same issue. Does anyone here have also this issue and knows how to fix this without reinstalling? Edited March 3, 2008 by MagicAndre1981
nuhi Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 (edited) No never saw it. There must have been some change, try to remember. Disabled some service, changed some drivers?edit: He just told me that this happened to other people at the same time, so I am thinking it could be some antivirus or other updateatable program that issues a bad update which they all use. MagicAndre1981 Posted March 2, 2008 Author Posted March 2, 2008 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/946532/en-usis a known issue from MS which should be fixed with SP1. But I have installed Sp1 from an integrated DVD.
MagicAndre1981 Posted March 3, 2008 Author Posted March 3, 2008 TuneUp 2008 Beta caused this issue. The version expired this weekend and failed to start Vista correctly. You have to set the BIOS date somedays back and uninstall the Beta.
