Hello all,

New to the board, but hopefully I will be spending more time here in the future....

I have a quick question regarding setting up a VPN between sites, currently the setup is being prepared in a lab and below is the sconorio.

Before setting up the VPN i check connectivity, everything is fine, connectivity to all nodes.

Im using RRAS to setup the VPN, Everything seems to be working ok, untill I use the computer with Wireshark on the network to monitor the traffic. I would of expected the packets to be encrypted, but this is not the case.

I then checked the receiving and the sent bytes on the servers VPN conenction, and this is does not change when ping is sent. Therefore the VPN is not being used and it is being by passed.

Next i tried...

Static routes and RIP V2 have been used to connect A and B to C and D (thinking this could be the course to a problem some where)

Changed parameters in PPTP (Ports) to Allow port to be used by RRAS and routing (I think here is the problem)

I realise this is something really simple and ive overlooked something (I hope). But i tried for hours to get it to work correctly with no success. Does any one know how to stop the packets by pass the VPN? As i expect it the ports, what ports should i use?

Sorry for the long description

Hope to here from you soon

Phil
