Windowx XP Pro password synchronization

Hello,

I have a problem where on occasion; when a user changes their password, it does not sync between the windows XP box and the Windows 2003 server domain. The only way I have found around this is to have the user reset the password again and then to manually lock the screen (crtl+alt+del, then lock computer) and then unlock it. Is there anything else that might work better?
