djzn Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 (edited) Hi, I wanted to know if the XP-like Welcome Screen which offers face navigation is somehow present in W2K3 or removed with no possibility to accept workarounds in order to secure the system. Edited February 4, 2008 by djzn
Idontwantspam Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 If Win2K3 is being used in a domain setting, then very no. If it's not, then just regular no. There are hacks out there to enable the welcome screen in win2k3, but you don't want/need to.
djzn Posted February 5, 2008 Author Posted February 5, 2008 Hi, thanks for the info, would you mind to explain what is being on a domain setting? It's just a home computer and two people use it, I really miss the welcome screen w/ navigation. If you know of any hacks please tell me! Thanks again.
Idontwantspam Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 You're using windows server and you don't know what a domain is?Why are you using a server OS in a home setting to begin with? It seems like overkill and a waste of your money, considering how much server editions cost. Besides, I'd recommend you use the classic logon interface anyways, since it's much more secure. And IMO it looks better, too. As for hacks, you'll have to google them. The only way I know of would be against forum rules to tell you. Sorry.
