Hi ppl,

I am running server2003 for s&m businesses. In the past few months I've noticed that the time/date keeps back dating to 2 or 3 days ago. Everytime I reset it it works fone for an hour or so and then it resets. I have managed to run the correct time/date for a week and then it resets again.

This is a big problem a it is affecting my mail server - i dont get mail if my settings arent insync.

I am using the time.windows.com - and still I am having problems.

PS - I have just seen the time was 14:59 and instead of going to 15:00 it turned to 14:00....

Any advice/help appreciated!!

Regards,

Arend

If you disable the Windows Time service, and the problem still occurs, this means an underlying hardware problem or software on the machine is messing with the time. Have you made sure the CMOS battery is good, and that the time in the BIOS is correct?

As well as checking the above, what i usually do is set the server to sync with an external source (search for an NTP server on the net) then have a policy that points at the server for all other PCs to sync their clock with. Usually run this command on the server:

• w32tm /config /manualpeerlist:NTP_server_IP_Address,0x8 /syncfromflags:MANUAL

• net stop w32time

• net start w32time

• w32tm /resync
