VS 2008 Pro silent install issue

For some reason I constantly get the following error when trying to use the /createunattended switch on <dir>\setup\setup.exe.

"A program has been encountered while loading the setup components. Canceling setup."

I have tried several copies of the media including redownloading the package from MSDN and nothing works.

Has anyone been able to get their install working?
