Hello everybody

I am new here

I have just "Downgraded" my PC from Vista to XP

The problem now is I have no soundCard Driver

I currently own a Emachines T3604 (They said they dont support XP}

Running on windows XP Professional

I use the Intel® 82945G Express Chipset Family 6.14.10.4906

Everything else was fine

it use to run on the Sigma Tel HD Audio CODEC/Driver

Now I have no Sound, I tried an earlier version of the same driver and no luck

I downloaded 4 automatic driver programs (DriverMagic, DriverGenius) No Luck

I downloaded http://driverpacks.net/DriverPacks/ (Driver Packs) With no luck, and also tried all there drivers for Sigma Tel with no luck

Now uninstalled all the non working one's

and im left with this

Some more info

Emachines T3604

Intel Celeron D

Windows XP Professional

Intel® 82945G Express Chipset Family 6.14.10.4906

AND NO SOUND

Is there any Driver I can use or do I need a specific program?

Ok

I believe I have installed KB888111 and I still have no audio?

Currently showing

Intel High Definition CODEC

The KB888111 Is installed

What the hell is going on lol

I cant be the only person to ever have this problem, right?

I am beginning to feel frustrated

if MS did not want us to Downgrade they should of offered a better product

lol, Come on I really cant be the only person to ever have tis issue

Any further issue is really appreciated

When I go to the Command Prompt menu it still tells me

Status: Driver is Enabled but not started

Either the driver isn't for your hardware, or the install was bad. I'd say it'd be better to know the exact chipset for your hardware and find the driver.

Does the event log (system or application) say anything about the issue?

a friend of mine has a T3604 and was having problems with drivers - i installed the driver and the sound is working using file 9536675.exe from http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers...mp;uid=18486979

I also got another one to work but I don't remember the exact file i think it was D00673-001-001.exe Either way the sound is working but DO THIS FIRST -

***remove the folder SF once 9536675.exe unzips to the cabs folder otherwise you will get some error about intel audio studio not being compatible with the motherboard and then you will have to edit the registry to get the audio studio from starting every time the computer starts up and to get it removed from the add/remove programs list*** (that means after you doubleclick the file 9536675.exe - go to the c:\cabs\9536675\ folder and delete the folder called SF)
