Im sorry if this seems like a rather newbish question, but Im terribly lost at this point. Ive been googling this all weekend long and have spent a better part of 6 hours browsing this forum trying to find a similar request.

Here's the setup we have here:

150 desktops - all of them are the same Dell Optiplex GX270

20 servers

network enviroment - domain

I have WDS installed

We use to use RIS, which I setup and figured out very easily - but that was nearly 3 years ago. 2 weeks ago we upgraded to WDS, and now none of the images work at all... so I decided to start all over. I took a workstation and loaded Windows XP with SP2 and Office 2003 with all the windows and office updates. Joined it to the domain and made an answer file using sysprep.

The problem Im having now is making the .WIM file. I never had problems making the typical windows xp image - but now that I added a few things to the mix like Office 2003 and Windows Updates - Im having a hard time understanding how to make this image so that I can load it to WDS.

Ive tried following alot of different tutorials - but all wanna make an image using ghost... and a ghost image wont load in WDS (not for at least)

help :blushing:

thank you
