tjozzie Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 I'm trying to install the Microsoft Office 2007 Compatibility patch on ~ approx. 250 PCs (College situation). I've installed it on 20 PCs so far, and 2 of them have come up with a very terse error saying the install failed. This happened right after the big tan 'terms and conditions' screen. I've tried installing from a local copy (on thumb drive), over the net from a college website, and from Microsoft's site - all with the same error.I'll keep digging, but I'm fairly sure neither has an older version of the patch on it as neither could open a .docx or .xlsx test file.Any help would certainly be appreciated.TJOzzie
tjozzie Posted January 17, 2008 Author Posted January 17, 2008 I found the solution myself. It was as simple as the fact that a few of the users didn't have admin rights on their computers. The image also left off the desktop support group. This made it so both I and the user were blocked from adding software.BTW - Yes, the standard here is for all of the users to have admin rights.
