Toolbar Control in Word

I have selected various toolbars I want to see every time I open a particular file in Word. Even ANY file would do.

But no matter that I've set them up and saved the file, the same bloody set of (unwanted) toolbars keeps reappearing every time I open it. I think I am going to bite somebody, possibly a client.

This is MS Word 2003, Service Pack 2, if that's relevant.

try deleting normal.dot. if that doesn't work, delete the respective pip files. i think the pip files is what contains the settings. these should be found in the documents and settings folder in microsoft/office/....
