Completely block updates KB905474 and KB890830

Featured Replies

Hi!

I want to use Automatic Updates in XP, but i never want to install KB905474 and KB890830. (Yes, WGA notify, and Malicious Removal Tool)

Is there a way to block these updates so manual Windows Update/Microsoft Update and Automatic Updates never installs them?

I know, there is a checkbox on WU/MU page, named "Don't show this update again", but i'm making an unattended XP-CD, and i want to put these "features" to that CD, so its automatically sets this ban.

I managed to investigate that the checkbox named "Don't show this update again" actually stored in C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore\DataStore.edb but i can not edit this file by script.

Any ideas?

go to Control panel>Automatic updates>click Windows Update Website>Click Custom> then when they show up under the updates thingamabobber just click the +sign and click "dont show this download"
