heffalump Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 (edited) The text mode part of Win2k setup when you first put the CD in only allows a full format, whereas XP version lets you do a quick format. This full format can take a very long time with a big hard disk! Is there some way to modify the boot image/files inside it to enable quick format option (NTFS) I'd like not to use a DOS boot disk beforehand i.e. have a setup program just like XP's one. cluberti Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 It's possible, I suppose, to modify the setup routine or hack it, but I've never heard of it done and a google search turns up nothing. It's possible the answer is simply, no.
