nazir Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 Hi ,Microsoft Windows (OS) is changing drastically from Vista. They are bringing in powerful UAC and Windows update mechanism (its good). With windows vista all the patches/hot-fixes will be managed by WUA(Windows Update Agent). Also the registry key management is changing. No registry key/s will be updated or added for any new patches installed (correct me if i am wrong). Thanks God. They(MS) is providing api to check for hot-fixes and patches. However the b/sad news; they are enforcing WUA(vista style) mechanism for XP and 2K. In 2K/XP every patch installed has a corresponding registry key.My query; With this new mechanism applied to XP/2K will it stop adding/updating registry entry for new hot-fix/patches.Please respond asap. Thanks in advance,Regards,~Nazir
