Can't drop COM object after SP2 install

I'm unable to drop a DLL into ComponentServices since the install of SP2 on our Windows 2003 server. I get the following:

An error occurred while processing the last operation. Error code 80131700. The event log may contain additional troubleshooting information.

It appears that it may be permissions related, but this was absolutely not a problem before SP2. We even rolled back SP2 and were then able to drop the COM object again. Any ideas?

what types of errors are logged in the eventvwr? DCOM errors?

More information would be good
