Bad boy Warrior Posted October 19, 2007 Share Posted October 19, 2007 We have a IBM Gen 5 backup drive. I recently installed a hardware update from Windows update. When the server restarted the backup device lights are constantly flashing so i thought the hardware update must have failed and went into device manager starngely the backup device is not even listed there - kind of lost here as to what i could try next?? any ideas? i will be going into safe mode few hours later but just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?Thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
aldrag Posted October 24, 2007 Share Posted October 24, 2007 If in the Device Manager, under Universal Serial Bus controllers, you have an item called "USB Mass Storage Device". Turn off or unplug your hard drive "safely" then right click on "USB Mass Storage Device" and click uninstall.
