sedret Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 (edited) Hi to you all.. I am trying to get into Vista and that is why I try to read most of your posts.. ..I tried to search the forum about my problem but couldn't find anything relevant...So I have an ICH9R controller with 2 Hdd in Raid0 and two other Hdds for storage purposes.. I go to the Properties tab of each of my Hdds and there "Optimize for Performance" is selected. But when I try to enable either of the "Enable write caching on the disk" or "Enable advanced performance" the selection cannot be saved. When I close the window and go back again both options are unticked.. ..This happens to all of my disks.. I have installed Intel Matrix where I have enabled write caching for my Raid but there is no option for that on my other single drives. Do you know any solution for this? Thanks guys for any help.... cluberti Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 If the controller attached to those drives isn't battery backed, Vista shouldn't let you enable that setting.
sedret Posted October 14, 2007 Author Posted October 14, 2007 Thanks for the answer, but what do you mean by Battery Packed? I have a UPS connected to the pc with its data cable plugged in and still it doesn't let me to enable th policies.. As I can remember even in my laptop these policies could not be selected..
