issues with standby

alright for some reason standby no longer works on my xp sp2 system. It has been working perfectly the past week when i set it up 15min for monitor to shut off and 15min for pc to go into standby mode. now it refuses to do either. I do not know of any settings i have changed or what i may have done that would effect this.

What can i do to try and resolve this?
