accludetuner Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Hey everyone. First time poster. I can usually find anything I need but this one is stumping me.First of all, I have many HD's that are basically all full so I can't just simply rearrange files to solve my problem.I'm looking for a program that will allow me to make 1 virutal hard drive. Within that single virtual drive, I want to make folders like "Music" that folder would also act like a "virtual folder" linking to an actual HD that has all of my music files on it. I need another "virtual folder" on the same virtual drive that would link to a separate HD that contains my movies and so on . I have about 10 actual folders spread out on 4 different physical HD's, but I want them all to be listed and accessible from a single virtual drive filled with virtual folders linking to each. The reason I need this is because I have Apache installed on my WinXP SP2 system and due to lack of space, I cannot store everything in the "web root folder", nor can I simply place a link to the separate folders on separate drives within the root folder. I need to create a virtual drive with virtual directories that link to everything.I need something like the standard windows subst.exe command but with the ability to link multiple folders to a single virtual drive.I hope you followed that and if not I can try to explain it a little better. Thanks for any help!
accludetuner Posted September 15, 2007 Author Posted September 15, 2007 After hours of searching, I found what I needed. It's a freeware app called WinHardLink. Here's the link in case anyone else was wondering how to do something like this - http://www.brothersoft.com/file_disk_manag...link_46896.htmlI tried many other programs (and combinations of programs) and none of them did what I needed. This one worked like a charm
