snathi Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Has anyone run into a problem trying to view thumbnails of flv files?Typically I put flv files in the same directory as the original media it was converted from (mpg, avi etc.). Every time I scroll through those directories, Explorer crashes then restarts.I know the problem is associated with the flv's because if I go into the directory through a DOS window, and rename all the .flv extensions to .vlf then I can scroll through the directory without Explorer dropping dead. Here are the dumps I get in Event Viewer:Faulting application Explorer.EXE, version 6.0.6000.16386, time stamp 0x4549b091, faulting module FLVSplitter.ax, version 1.0.0.2, time stamp 0x46dc1435, exception code 0xc000000d, fault offset 0x0001c6f2, process id 0xebc, application start time 0x01c7f1a34d14e0af.-----------Fault bucket 56008863, type 5Event Name: BEXResponse: NoneCab Id: 0Problem signature:P1: Explorer.EXEP2: 6.0.6000.16386P3: 4549b091P4: FLVSplitter.axP5: 1.0.0.2P6: 45edac71P7: 000252c2P8: c000000dP9: 00000000P10: ------------Version=1EventType=BEXEventTime=128336798005991195ReportType=2Consent=1UploadTime=128336798016586220Response.BucketId=56008863Response.BucketTable=5Response.type=4Sig[0].Name=Application NameSig[0].Value=Explorer.EXESig[1].Name=Application VersionSig[1].Value=6.0.6000.16386Sig[2].Name=Application TimestampSig[2].Value=4549b091Sig[3].Name=Fault Module NameSig[3].Value=FLVSplitter.axSig[4].Name=Fault Module VersionSig[4].Value=1.0.0.2Sig[5].Name=Fault Module TimestampSig[5].Value=45edac71Sig[6].Name=Exception OffsetSig[6].Value=000252c2Sig[7].Name=Exception CodeSig[7].Value=c000000dSig[8].Name=Exception DataSig[8].Value=00000000DynamicSig[1].Name=OS VersionDynamicSig[1].Value=6.0.6000.2.0.0.768.3DynamicSig[2].Name=Locale IDDynamicSig[2].Value=1033DynamicSig[22].Name=Additional Information 1DynamicSig[22].Value=9e6dDynamicSig[23].Name=Additional Information 2DynamicSig[23].Value=e4ee1507257f3e497243003f5b7d5db3DynamicSig[24].Name=Additional Information 3DynamicSig[24].Value=a82aDynamicSig[25].Name=Additional Information 4DynamicSig[25].Value=489db488667c953f609cba709692eb02UI[2]=C:\Windows\Explorer.EXEUI[3]=Windows Explorer has stopped workingUI[4]=Windows can check online for a solution to the problem and try to restart the program.UI[5]=Check online for a solution and restart the programUI[6]=Check online for a solution later and close the programUI[7]=Close the programState[0].Key=Transport.DoneStage1State[0].Value=1FriendlyEventName=Stopped workingConsentKey=BEXAppName=Windows ExplorerAppPath=C:\Windows\Explorer.EXEAnybody have an idea whats causing flv files to trash Explorer? Thanks!Snathi
ajua Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 maybe be related to the flv codec you have. are you using some codec pack? try uninstalling it. also you can check eltima software, they have a progam for viewing flv thumbnails in explorer (a codec splitter maybe)
cluberti Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 The error code says explorer is crashing because of a bad or invalid parameter passed to it by flvsplitter.ax (that's what the c000000d status code means), but without an adplus dump of explorer.exe of it occurring we cannot tell you more.
