hi! I've reinstalled xp pro removed a lot of crap with xp lite and customize with tweak ui and I just noticed that the icons are not showing in 32 bits in the system tray

now I don't know if it's because of something I removed or tweaked or if it's a microsoft update that enabled to see them in 32 bits (I have sp1 and do not plan to update anything directly from microsoft) I know dr hoiby website has an explorer patch for older versions of windows but I can't find a patch or update for xp

anybody can help? thanks

ok now I kinda know what the problem is, my color depth is set to 16 bits

where's the value in the registry that I have to change to force xp to show system tray icons in 16 bits instead of 256 colors?

stupid question: is there an advantage to run in 32 bits instead of 16 bits, because I've always runned win98 in 16 bits and I can't see a difference between 16 and 32 and doesn't 32 takes more ressources??

nevermind it turns out the only icon that is showing in 256 colors when color depth is at 16 bits is utorrent

"Fix: Low color icon no longer displays when not running in 32-bit color, instead 256 color icon is used always"
