Not sure whether this is the right forum; please relocate if necessary

We have a setup of 10 systems for education purposes; non commercial. We do have a tool that will revert systems back to the original situation so that all havoc from our users disappear after reboot.

Currently these systems are maintained on an individual basis, but that is rather time consuming with all updates and such.

Now, within short, we are going to get 10 new systems which should all be dual-boot XP/Vista and the maintenance problem gets worse because we now have 20 "systems" to maintain.

What we are looking for is something like SMS or its successors from Microsoft but suitable and affordable for our situation.

Anybody, any suggestions and experiences?

All we want to be able to do is deploy programs and updates centrally to all systems.
