SATA/RAID controller after Vista is installed

I have an Intel DG965WH system that was set up initially with XP MCE and w/o a floppy drive, so no F6 SATA/RAID controller installation. I have since added a floppy and upgraded to Vista Home Premium, but the HDD is still running in IDE mode. There are a lot of other programs, data and user settings on this rig now so I don't want to have to re-install Vista! With Vista, is there now a way around having to do an F6 during OS installation to get the SATA controller on board? Changing the setting from IDE mode to RAID or AHCI results in endless reboots because of no SATA/RAID driver/controller.
