Hello there!

I am having some difficulty booting Vista PE 2.0 from a USB stick.

I have previously used the HP utility to copy a windows 98 bootable floppy to the USB stick. This boots fine.

I have since tried all the steps in THIS guide to make the same stick bootable into Vista PE. The stick boots on our HP machines (DX2200) but does not on the machine I have previously booted using the Win 98 stick. This machine uses an intel D845GVSR motherboard.

I think this means that the machine will only boot USB-FDD style bootable sticks not USB-HDD sticks.

Would this be a fair assumption? if so can I make a Vista PE USB-FDD stick? If so How?

I appreciate any help that anyone can give.

TIA

Jo
