Sound Blaster Audigy Sound Card

Hi,

I have a Sound blaster Audigy Sound Card. After a new installation, I go to the updated drivers that I have downloaded from the Creative Site. I have 2 sets of updates, but if I try to use the latest one first I get a message saying I do not have a supported product. So I have to use the first Web update first. And usualy when I put on the first update I get into all sorts of trouble, with windows rebooting after just loading when the new driver has been installed, and it can take me hours to even get the machine started using safe mode and uninstalling the card, before I can get the second and latest driver update installed. I would not bother about it only it makes a huge difference to the quality of the sound from the card.

Now my question?

How can I put these drivers preinstalled on to my installation CD. I have it slipstreamed to Sp2 using AutoStreamer.exe.

I am not very familiar on how to do this, so any help would be greatly appreciated. I could then put all of my drivers on the CD and save me a lot of time installing. I have an Radeon X1300 series Graphics card

A TV Card

And of course my MoBo Drivers, I also have an HP Scanjet 5590 and A photosmart 7960 printer but I think I may leave these installations until after the windows installation as they have software that is used with them.

I'd give creative a call. Make sure you're absolutely using the most recent correct driver installation for your audigy card. Also could be a windows issue as well. How's your OS working? Are you current on your updates? Also doesn't hurt to have your motherboard BIOS up to date as well. I've had a similar can't find product on install but it turned out I was using the wrong download.

You shouldn't have several files to install as Creative put it all in one file months ago, which means you don't have the latest driver.

To insure you get the correct drivers for your Audigy, the first thing to do is either look on the card itself for an SBxxxx number and write that down. OR if you don't want to bother pulling the card out just for that, any number of system info apps, like Everest, Sisosft Sandra, or Belarc Advisor should be able to tell you. I know Everest will show you, since that's how I found mine, which is SB0092, just to give you an example.

Once you have the SBxxxx number, then go here:

http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/

and in the box below the 3 main ones, where it says "Search by File Name or Model Number", enter your SBxxxx number.

You will then see a page full of direct download links, with the latest driver on top. That's the one you want.
