Since this recent info about Windows Explorer in SE being vulnerable I was wondering if I have activeX and IE disabled and also locked behind a firewall would the listed vulnerability theory still be possible? It seems like most of the Problems SE users suffer from come from these two uh ... (exploits?). Thanks for any input.

Great to join the forum. I tripped over it getting the latest UnOfficial 98SE SP. I was suprised to see so many people like me still using SE as well as those using XP. I've been on the Microsoft stuff since DOS 4.0 and remember the horrible days of Windows (2.0). A little about my screen name (PhenixBorg). A misspell of the mythical bird rising from it's ashes and the old Star Trek nemesis to assimilate others before bursting into flames again. Microsoft is great company that seems to have lost touch with its end users and lately reality. To everyone who supports and uses this group I thank you! I don't know how much I can contribute to the forum except maybe cash and opinion. Just remember on thing about my opinions. Like everyone else I have one and it is just that, an opinion. Glad to be here. Will try to come back often.
