which is ur burning tool?
as suggest use Imgburn http://www.imgburn.com/
Yes, that was suggested above.
I've installed it and burn the image this morning...
Great stuff folks,
Pax
P.S. I'm going to look at CDshell and create a multiboot for the future so hopefully this will be avoided.

ditch Roxio and try ImgBurn - I use that to burn all my iso's, it's never been confused as to whether a CD or DVD is in the drive.
If it still cant tell, you may have some problem with your DVD burner or drivers.

Brilliant, thanks, will try tomorrow.
Think I will invest in some CD shell magic too and make a complete dead server and terminal server, and include a Citrix PS4 unattended install on it.
Should make it bigger, and but I just want to get the plain build out first to see what other additions people require

Its above 700 MB .U should burn into DVD
U have another option to burn into 900MB CD
I want to burn it to a DVD, but it keeps spitting the DVD out claiming not enough space (thinking there is a CD in there). Granted I am using the free Roxio that comes with the 4 letter large computer companies DVD burners, and this is even when I do a disk to disk copy after mounting it in Daemontools first

Hey All,
I've created my unattened install for work servers, so it basically has all the drivers to cover our hardware platforms, AV, remote control tool and Autopatcher.
I use CDImageGUI to create the .iso file, and when the image is created it is 817MB. Trying to burn the image it says there isn't enough room on the CD (funnily enough this is true), but I've got a blank DVD in the drive.
If I use DaemonTools to mount the image, then it is seen in windows as a CD aswell, and not a DVD.
Why doesn't it see it as a DVD, or burn it to a DVD. Is there an image size it has to be to be considered a DVD?
I could pad it out if needed. I don't think at any stage it is going to be getting smaller, as it is V1, and I am sure there will be requests for additional software to be included in it,

You could also try the attached one.
<Edit>
I have added the pertinent changes to a section at the bottom, of the [AddReg] and [DelReg] sections, of a clean version of HIVESYS.INF.
All of your settings are taken into account and I have altered as little as possible of the original text from the clean file, commenting out only where necessary.
You had just a few of the original settings which you had altered from their default values. They do not need editing as I have removed the NOCLOBBER settings where necessary and your later settings will overwrite those earlier in the file during the install.
</Edit>
Hope it helps!
Thanks muchly. I'm going to have to find a text editor that works as I need to do this for 2003 aswell.
Now I know where things went wrong, I can look out for what to make sure is set right.

Thanks to Yzöwl and Delprat.
I am wondering if the missing " was causing the problem. I guess I'll find out next image file I make.
edit: tried to edit the hivesys.inf to make change, and opening the same hivesys.inf in notepad, rather than textpad, gives the setout correct as Delprat states above, but if I make the change of inserting an ", then save the file using the format either ANSI, Unicode, UTF-8, then the lines mess up, i.e. there isn't a new line after each \, which especially shows on the shorter lines. I've tried all 3 formats seperately with seperate files, even taking the original hivesys.inf from the CD and making the changes from scratch.
HELP?!?! What am I doing wrong?
*sigh*

You are not looking at it in the correct type of text editor!
All of those lines have continuation characters and are effectively all on the same line.
Post your hive file as a compressed archive attachment.
This could be it. I've tried Text pad, which I get the line numbers from, and normal notepad.
I've attached it.
Textpad is where I've been doing the editting, and the standard hivesys.inf has the lines as posted above within textpad. What is the best .inf/.sif editor to use?
Please let me know what you find,
Pax
P.S. Please disregard filename as I've been trying a few things with the standard hivesys.inf

Hello People,
I've been trying to create an unattended Windows 2000 SP4 CD with all the SCSI and RAID drivers for all our server models at work. I've done the winnt.sif and txtsetup.sif files. I've also edited the hivesys.inf file with the event log and drivers sections as per online websites.
I keep getting corruptions in the hivesys.inf when installing. the latest one is on line 2034, but it is a blank line so I don't know what is causing it. Below I've got an extract of the area around line 2034, and included the line numbers. Can someone see something I cannot about what is causing the problem??

Unattended Citrix with drive remap
in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Posted
Hey All,
Last topic for the year for me.... Merry Christmas to all!
My next alteration to the SOE image I've done is a Citrix Metaframe PS4 install. Since this will be enterprise wide and there are different farms in use according to country, I am going for the answer file option for the install. My problem is the process steps involved.
I was going to move the AV, remote control and Autopatcher section (currently installed on second CD using cdswitch) till after the Drive Remap, which means not using RunOnceEx or RunOnceGui upon first install, unless.....
Would it be possible to use Drive Remap at cmdlines.txt time, or would this kill the windows installation process?
For those not familiar with the Drive Remap process, it basically runs through the registry and changes all references to the current drive, and defined variable , to the new drive letter, update disk management and requires a reboot. This is why I was going to install all applications apart from the OS after DriveRemap, to lessen chances of issues.
I have done a search and it seems no one has questioned this on the forums, but I'm sure someone would have thought or gone through the same process for large enterprises.
If I am going to use Drive Remap using RunOnceEx or RunOnceGui, can these keys be re-used easily post install process (reset a variable elsewhere??), or what do people recommend being the best way to then post install the rest of the apps mentioned above.
