  1. Figured it out myself. SR1 - Used 02ksr1adl.exe and extracted all files. Then ran setup.exe with th /QB switch. SP3 - Just downloaded the client version of the install and extracted the files. Changed a couple setting in the ohotfix.ini file to make completely silent and then ran ohotfix.exe. Post SP3 Updates - Did the same as for SP3 extracting each update into the same directory and then ran the ohotfix.exe file with changes in the ini file.
  2. I have a screwed up install of Office 2000 on about 1000 machines. It works fine, but here is the strage thing. By checking the versions of the exe's I know that the install is updated to at least SP3 level. But in the registry under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer and "Add/Remove Programs" it does not show that the SR1 version is installed, it just shows that the Original Office 2000 is installed. So the problem is that when I try to install a new update it won't install because it says the correct version of Office is not installed. Note that the source install files (ie data1.msi, etc.) are located locally on each PC. As I said SR1 and SP3 are installed and can be verified by exe versions. One thought is that maybe I can change some registry settings so that the new updates see that the correct versions are installed and therefore allow the new updates. If anyone has any thoughts on what would need to be changed to do this please let me know? The other fix is to reinstall SR1, SP3, and all post updates. This option does work but I am having trouble figuring out a totally silent way to push out SR1 and SP3 since it will be going to 1000 PCs. I have got the full install of SR1 (O2ksr1adl.exe) and extracted the files. If I run setup.exe manually and walk through the install it works fine, but if I try to use the /Q silent command on the setup.exe it does not install. How do I make this install silent? Also what is the easiest way to install SP3 and all since updates silently? Please help I need to get these installs fixed so they can accept the newer updates.
  3. Say I have a Office 2003 CD but only Outlook 2003 was chosen to be installed originally when installing. Now say that there is a Office 2003 patch that is related to Excel only like the current MS06-012. It will let me install this update......or at least it appears to install, but maybe it isn't doing anything. My question is.....if I now decide to add Excel from my Office 2003 CD, will it be patched or will the patch MS06-012 need to be re-applied in order to actually be installed?
